Lee Troop 7 weeks to go and I am reminded by the agony of defeat. Since my last report, I have been training hard through the months of October, November and December with my group of athletes that I coach.

Lee Troop Every four years the biggest sporting event comes around, the Olympic games. Athletes usually start planning for these events 3 - 4 years out and have several goals that they must obtain along the way to give them the confidence that they will achieve this goal.

Dani Samuels I left Sydney on the 3rd July for the Europe leg of my World Championship preparation, so it is hard to believe that I have just over one week to go until my Qualifying rounds

 

Close but still not there…..

Lee Troop It has been 10 days since my 6th place finish at the Gold Coast marathon and even though I am disappointed in falling short of my target time (sub 2hrs 12mins) by running 2hrs 15mins and 45secs, I am pleased that I still took a forward step that shows I am really close.

 

Qualifying for the 2012 London Olympics

Lee Troop On Sunday July 3rd I will be running the Gold Coast Airport Marathon and I am nearing the end of a very heavy training block. The goal in this race is simple: Run under 2hrs and 12mins and post a qualifying time for next years Olympic Games in London.

Dani Samuels This was a special victory as a week before the comp I didnt think I would be able to throw due to a pec injury, but just be able to get out there and compete was great!

 

Road to recovery

Dani Samuels The 2011 domestic season has been a bit of a challenge for me. I’ve been feeling like I have made a lot of progress at training and feeling stronger than ever but haven’t seen the results as yet. I started off in Brisbane with a 59m, followed by Melbourne with 61m.
