This is an injected and separate piece of Solyte that is in the forefoot of the midsole. The women’s piece is softer (48degree durometer measure) compared to the men’s (53degree). This allows the lighter frame of women to feel the cushioning available in the forefoot of the shoe.

For the ASICS GEL cushioning system various materials are used. Depending on its function, the GEL-unit contains a siliconebased porous foam, a silicone GEL or a semi-solid silicone substance encapsulated in polyurethane. The shape of the units are also precisely designed to the specific function and position.

This shoe supports my foot and joints into correct alignment making running easier, less painful, and much more fun. These shoes are super comfortable, supportive and cushioning. In addition to the already existing Gender Space Trusstic, Gender Specific Cushioning has been introduced to the GEL-Cumulus 12, making it easier for the female runner to exploit the cushioning characteristics of the midsole. Further improvements to cushioning have been achieved via the Implementation of a larger rearfoot GEL unit and full length Solyte 45 lasting material. To enhance the fit and comfort of the shoe, PHF has been added to both the medial and lateral side of the heel collar further customising the fit and reducing the likelihood of irritation.
