This has been our ‘go to’ shoe for many years, and is truly an icon in the ASICS running range. It can be summed up in one word – consistent. Offers a brilliant ‘ride’ for the runner who does long kilometres
The Impact Guidance System is a technical design philosophy that allows the foot to perform in a more natural manner for the intended sport.
Moulds and customises itself to the individual heel shape of the wearer.
A reflective material produced by the 3M company for night safety.
An EVA sockliner moulded to the shape of the foot, which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic.
This is an injected and separate piece of Solyte that is in the forefoot of the midsole. The women’s piece is softer (48degree durometer measure) compared to the men’s (53degree). This allows the lighter frame of women to feel the cushioning available in the forefoot of the shoe.
The ASICS GEL System is probably the most famous of all our innovations. To bring about the highest possible shock absorbing effect, the GEL-units are strategically placed in the midsole of the shoe. For the ASICS GEL cushioning system various materials are used. Depending on its function, the GEL-unit contains a siliconebased porous foam, a silicone GEL or a semi-solid silicone substance encapsulated in polyurethane. The shape of the units are also precisely designed to the specific function and position.
New proprietary midsole material, which is lighter than ASICS’ standard EVA and SpEVA, combined with improved cushioning and durability.
New blown AHAR outsole material. Delivers enhanced cushioning, durability and ride to the forefoot.
The Guidance Line is a physical separation of the midsole. This vertical flex groove decouples the tooling and helps reproduce consistent load transfer at propulsion. IGS Adaptive Technology at its best.
ASICS High Abrasion Rubber. Tough rubber compound used at the heavy-contact areas of the outersole. Helps cut down on excessive wear.
The 18th version of ASICS’ flagship Structured Cushioning model continues to offer top of the line technology while maintaining the classic ride and comfort that has made the series an icon.
The GEL-3000 series has rapidly become the industry’s favourite shoe for those who need more support, Particularly in the later stages of gait.
The GEL-DS Trainer 17 continues to meet the needs of runners looking for a supportive, yet lightweight trainer.
Great for any activity you pursue, these ingenious tights are essentially a full leg muscle support system.
A popular piece in the Inner Muscle range, the Short Sleeve Top is a great choice for activities that require you to lift your arms above your shoulders

Troy says:I have a severe negative camber (flat footed), and yet these shoes with a sports innersole don't give me shin splints after running or walking. Totally recommend to mong footed people like myself.

Ethan says:After toning down from the Kayano 17, I had to find another shoe which would suit my orthodic wearing flat feet. So I settled for the 2160's. What a great feel. Cushioning is ample but much better breathability than the Kayano's. Smooth transition and no faults found.

Jon says:Paid the extra to get this shoe and was not disappointed. Nearly got divorced when my wife found out how much I paid. I might as well throw all my other shoes away, these are so comfortable. I have a plantar fasciitis and the shoe is the only thing that helps. Will never buy anything other than asics again

This has been our ‘go to’ shoe for many years, and is truly an icon in the ASICS running range. It can be summed up in one word – consistent. Offers a brilliant ‘ride’ for the runner who does long kilometres. Every year we tweak it slightly – however, if a runner loves their 2000 series shoe, they’ll love this new update even more. Full length Guidance Line Technology enhances efficiency, while the inner comfort of the shoe has also been upgraded.
