ASICS new proprietary midsole material takes on a new role as a lasting technology, enhancing comfort by improved cushioning through the use of three different densities: 55 density for increased stiffness to boost the spring rate.
The ASICS GEL System is probably the most famous of all our innovations. To bring about the highest possible shock absorbing effect, the GEL-units are strategically placed in the midsole of the shoe. For the ASICS GEL cushioning system various materials are used. Depending on its function, the GEL-unit contains a siliconebased porous foam, a silicone GEL or a semi-solid silicone substance encapsulated in polyurethane. The shape of the units are also precisely designed to the specific function and position.

The brilliant next evolution of our diabetic principle walking shoe. The GEL-Cardio Zip utilises a zip construction on the medial side in conjunction with a traditional lacing system. The zip closure allows for fast exit from the shoe and for a streamlined look. The midsole/outsole carries the ‘rocker’ type system found in the previous GEL-4 TO 8 model for smoother walking during gait. Such shoes are normally quite unstable, but we have managed to attain both stability and comfort with this exclusive midsole tooling.
