Australian Little Athletics

ASICS are continuing our support of Little Athletics Australia. This is an important initiative for ASICS, as the brand was founded on the belief that kids benefit through the positive things sport has to offer. As the name suggests, it is based upon the sport of athletics (track and field). There is a wide range of events from running, jumping, throwing and walking and they are modified to suit the age and ability of the children. Little Athletics is all about "Be your Best". The emphasis is on fun, participation, performance, technique and getting involved with your family in physical and healthy activity. The motto of Little Athletics is 'Family, Fun and Fitness".

Across Australia more than 95,000 girls and boys enjoy the activities of Little Athletics. Little Athletics is the "Foundation for all Sports". All sports use the skills developed at Little Athletics in a range of aspects of their sport. Little Athletics recognises that children vary widely in shape, size and athletic ability, and is thus one of few sports that successfully caters for them all. ASICS are proud to announce a partnership with Australian Little Athletics (ALA) that will work to promote a healthy lifestyle to the younger generation of Australians. Through athletics and sport in general, kids start off on the right foot towards a fit and healthy future. They also learn to enjoy being active, achieve goals, participate and have fun with other kids.

We are trying to keep as many kids involved in sport – not just little A’s, but any activity where they get outside and enjoy themselves in the process. Winning runs a distant second to simply being active, participating and getting out there and having a go. ASICS have developed junior models for any sport your child may be involved in. remember it is very important that footwear suits the activity and fits correctly, which helps reduce the chance of possible injury.
