2008 ushers in a new era of elite netball competition. The ANZ Championship is the new Trans Tasman netball competition that will be keenly contested by five teams from New Zealand and five teams from Australia. This competition brings together not just the best players from the two leading netball nations of the world but also elite players from around the world. It will be fast, aggressive, athletic and best of all, teams will be equally matched in terms of playing strength. One sided games will be a thing of the past.
 
ASICS is proud to be the official footwear and apparel sponsor of the new competition. In addition to creating high performance competition uniforms for the players, ASICS is also introducing a range of official licensed merchandise for the supporters of all ten teams. The inaugural season of the ANZ Championship will run from April to August 2008.

To get through the gruelling and physical matches in the new competition, the players have a wide selection of footwear models from the ASICS netball range to choose from. New to the range are the 5th incarnation of the popular GEL-Netburner Professional and the GEL-Netburner VBS, which is, in short, a neutral version of the GEL-Netburner Professional series. The tried and trusted models such as GEL-Netburner 10, GEL-Netburner Ignites, GEL-Netburner Magic etc all continue in the range.

The junior range is also a priority for the brand going forward. The junior netball range is growing to meet the demand for high quality junior netball shoes. We aim to duplicate our senior models in our junior range so that the young players also receive the same benefits expected in an adult model.
